George met and married Clara Bates in 1903, while he served as a Police Constable in Derby.
They had four children - Daniel, Constance, Violet May and George.
After serving initially in the British Army and then the Royal Navy, Daniel too began a career in the NSPCC
which would last thirty five years.
Between them, father's and son's careers in the NSPCC would span over sixty years.
